Toronto Pop Festival ’69: Tiny Tim & Jeanne Beker.

contactHappy #TBT. Here’s the next in this series [there will be a few!] covering the film Lionel shot at the The Toronto Pop Festival in 1969!

This one has shots of a young looking Tiny Tim, some members of the Ronnie Hawkins band, playing while a 17-year-old Jeanne Beker dances her hart out in a yellow bikini top. That made the news and probably helped jump start her career I’ve read.

Some of the last shots are of backup singers I think. Not sure who they are or any of the audience members seen. If you know or see yourself, please do post or drop me a line!

Thanks to Michael Fenemore who helped identify himself as one of the players in the last post backing up Chuck Barry. I have more shots of them for sure, and several other of the acts that played that day. I’ll be posting them as an ongoing series for the next month at least.
