Some Silly Doodles

So in case you didn’t know, I’m a cartoonist. Arna my mother is an artist, she works in animation. In part this explains my involvement in the arts. But not only was Lionel also very creative, he was a avid reader of comics, introducing me to my first undergrounds and superheros. And I’m told we would sit at the kitchen table together, where he did much of his writing. And draw cartoons together. An extension of a habit he already had. I don’t have a lot of them but I’m told he would draw cartoons in his idle moments often. I’ve found a few in his papers, ranging from high school years to it looks like maybe university. They are not exceptional, but it gives a fun glimpse into his sense of humor and something that probably lent a push in the direction of my early interest in comics.
